We spend the days in P.P. - buying tickets for Vientiane - & getting a massage at a place called "seeing hands". That was great!!!
It's administrated by trained blind people in a center next to Wat Sarowan pagoda on 178 street east of Norodom blvd.
The masseurs (men & women) have learned the Japanese Shiatso technique from a Canadian Cambodian born guy named Suos Sothea.
The technique feels more or less like zonal therapy all over the back - you keep your clothes on is placed on a mattress on a table in peaceful surroundings - with new age music on the stereo. It was heaven - although the guy who massaged me found muscles on my body I didn't know existed - he also informed me that I recently had bought a new backpack & it was much better than the old one. That was cool - how on earth did he feel that - He couldn't see because he have had acid thrown in his face & totally lost his eyes - there were nothing there just blank skin. Some of the others had grown up under Pol Pot & didn't get medical treatment to a child disease that would have been over in 2 days. The massage cost 2$ for one hour. (If you ever go to Phnom Penh PLEASE give yourself this treat).
We went to a music gig at FCC feat. Ross (Canada) & his brother who works in P.P. (which makes Ross sick just thinking about what can happen to him) it was a good gig & we met a lot of new crazy friends.
And Phnom Penh is just as dusty - dirty - full of beggars - street kitchens - dead rats - temples - pagodas - wide boulevards as ever.
One minister Hung Sen had put the Prince under house arrest while we'd been in Siem Reap & part of the city is full of barbed wire & soldiers with machine guns - so we just walked another route. But we all feel something bad will happen.
Tomorrow the fabulous 4 are leaving for Vientiane Laos & leave their best & bestest friend(s) behind - Take care Perry!
We all had a wonderful goodbye party at "The Heart of darkness" where compliments flooded through the air & we all thought "NOW IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON!"
