The day started out awful – it was cold & both Annemette & I had stomach ache (too much real food I guess). But we went to the bank to cash checks& the market to buy presents. Then we walked over to Lao aviation & bought tickets for tomorrow – back to Vientiane. We went to the GPO to send some letters & finally we walked home to our guesthouse.
The sun came through & we all spend the rest of the afternoon out in the beautiful garden trying to get a tan. We ate dinner down at the Mekong river met Ingrid again & tried the famous Thai whisky diet. It worked!!!!
We left some of our warmer clothes at the guesthouse.

We took a tuktuk out to the airport at 08:00am it was cold & misty – the flight was delayed. The airport was small & rather primitive – there was a bench outside where we sat & waited. At 10:00 we walked down & sat at the runway together with an other “aussie” Ron & shared the rest of our Thai whisky & shared travel memories & thoughts.
Finally at noon our flight landed - & a bit later we boarded & took off into the sunshine. It was a beautiful trip & I took some wonderful photos of Laos from above.
Vientiane welcomed us friendly & warm & we booked in at Syri guesthouse & more or less ran down to Sunes bakery & had a tomato – cucumber sandwich & MILK!!!!! Then we walked over to the post office & picked up our letters & one pkg. Randi send us licorice – we were in heaven – sad down on the sidewalk next to the cyclo driver & ate licorice & read letters. (we all had a good time) Walked home to Syri & had a beer or more at the beautiful balcony. Ate dinner at an Italian restaurant down at the fountain.

Said goodbye to David – our true travel companion – he left for Thailand by bus (needed to see a dentist very fast – had wisdom teeth problems) Annemette wanted to fly back to Phnom Penh – so we bought tickets to Bangkok instead - :o)
We’re pretty low on cash we need to go to Bangkok to get some money out from our post accounts. & we went down to Sunes bakery to see the Swedish children walk Lucia – they were so cute!!! Then we went to the post office & spend hours sending Kate’s pkg. (hope it’ll make it – we filled out so many forms) went shopping at the market & picked up the clothes we had ordered before we left for the north – it’s beautiful!!! (it still is hanging in my closet – it was made when I had lost 15 kilos – there’s no way for me getting into it anymore). Ate at a street kitchen papaya salad & sticky rice. Yummy! Ate at a nearby restaurant together with Ingrid! It was our goodbye to Laos dinner!
